ABOUT SHE KNEADS

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a great holistic approach to enhancing physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Physically, it promotes relaxation, reduces muscle tension, and improves circulation, which can alleviate chronic pain and enhance flexibility. Furthermore, massage therapy can boost the immune system by stimulating lymph flow and reducing stress hormones like cortisol.

Beyond the physical realm, regular massages have profound psychological benefits, such as reducing anxiety and depression, promoting better sleep, and increasing overall feelings of well-being.

Energy Therapies

Energy work therapies like Reiki, Muscle Tuning and Access Bars therapy offer a unique approach to holistic well-being, focusing on balancing the body's energy systems to promote healing and relaxation.

Through gentle touch or non-invasive techniques, these therapies facilitate the flow of energy throughout the body, releasing blockages and promoting a state of equilibrium.

Benefits of these modalities include deep relaxation, stress reduction, and enhanced emotional well-being. They can also alleviate physical discomfort by targeting specific areas of tension and promoting the body's natural ability to heal itself.

Additionally, energy work therapies can lead to improved sleep, increased mental clarity, and a greater sense of inner peace and harmony.

How to Prepare for Your Treatment

1

Shower Beforehand

Taking a shower before your massage not only ensures that you're clean and fresh but also helps relax your muscles and prepare your body for the therapeutic touch. Use mild soap and pay attention to areas where sweat and oil tend to accumulate, such as the underarms, feet, and groin area. Clean, dry skin allows the massage oils or lotions to be absorbed more effectively.

2

Trim Nails and Remove Jewelry

Long nails or sharp edges can accidentally scratch your skin or your therapist's skin during the massage. Trim your nails before your appointment to prevent any discomfort or injury. Additionally, remove any jewellery that could get in the way or be damaged during the session. This includes rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.

3

Hydrate Yourself

Drinking water before a massage can help flush out toxins from your body and hydrate your muscles, making them more receptive to manipulation. Aim to drink a couple of glasses of water in the hours leading up to your massage, but avoid heavy meals immediately beforehand to prevent discomfort during the session.

4

Arrive Early & Relax

Arriving at least 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment allows you to unwind and mentally prepare for the massage in the waiting area. Deep breathing or gentle stretching can help calm your mind and loosen your muscles before the session begins.

Articles by Giada

Embarking on my journey as an author in the throngs of the first COVID lockdown, I was deeply inspired by my love for teaching and empowering clients and motivated by the fact that I couldn't help them myself. The commitment to holistic healthcare, evident in my career as a holistic therapist and entrepreneur, provided unique insights that has fueled my writing even as life moved on and resumed to "normalcy". I don't write often, but when I do I try to make it count. Hope you enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • DO YOU TREAT MEN?

Preferably, no. I will treat a man that I know well, and I will sometimes make exceptions for partners of known, regular clients. But in general, no I do not.

  • DO YOU DO PREGNANCY MASSAGE?

Yes! I love doing pregnancy massage actually. Essentially you book a regular massage, and we just adjust the treatment slightly to accomodate the baby bump. This means treatment in sidelying positions, and all the pillows you could want and hope for.

  • DO YOU DO HOUSE CALLS?

The short answer is yes. I can do house calls, though there is a €30 call out fee.

  • CAN I PAY CASH?

Yes. Please let me know if that is your preferred way to pay. I will still request a €30 deposit through online payment, but the rest can be cash, no bother.

    Just text me at 0830648353.

  • WHERE DID YOU STUDY?

I got my Massage Therapy certification at Sutherland-Chan Canada's no.1 school of Massage Therapy. It was a 2 year certificate program, and I graduated in 2015.
